Since 1990 IBIMET investigates the effects of Arbuscular-Mycorrhizal (AM) symbiosis on modulation of plant growth and production in order to evaluate the potential applications of these fungal endophytes to plant production.

MicorrizeSince 1990 IBIMET investigates the effects of Arbuscular-Mycorrhizal (AM) symbiosis on modulation of plant growth and production in order to evaluate the potential applications of these fungal endophytes to plant production. Physiological and biochemical mechanisms as well as morphological changes are studied to unravel the role of mycorrhizal fungi in overcoming the limitations to plant production brought by abiotic stresses. Our main findings showed that the impact of AM fungi root colonization on isoprenoid production above and below ground is complex and might be the result of a alternative carbon allocation and partitioning between the different classes of isoprenoids, especially under environmental constrains.
