Institute of Biometeorology - Bologna detached unit
Research activity of CNR Institute of Biometeorology, Bologna is aimed to investigate and improve environmental quality, production sustainability, consumer health and wellness. IBIMET BO develops methodologies and models for investigating biosphere-atmosphere interactions in natural, rural and urban systems. Environmental studies are aimed to support biodiversity preservation, a sustainable use of resources and a reduction of energy inputs. Researches investigate physiological, eco-physiological and morphological markers related to biotic and abiotic stress. Topics of research studies are also focused on energy and radiative balance, processes of pollutant exchange and transfer. Researches pursue the development of green, sustainable technologies to face environmental risks. Plants are studied as mitigation and remediation tools with application of phytoremediation techniques. Quality of agrofood products is studied by the use of integrated approaches including agroclimatic characterization and zoning methodologies (farm), biochemical analyses, sensory and consumer science (fork). |
